If you are looking for your first job, you may have come to realize that your job search is no easy task. Employers look for education and experience, and a lack of experience puts first-time job seekers at a bit of a disadvantage. However, there is one field that often considers those with no prior experience. Call centers tend to have telemarketing jobs available and are often willing to accept new employees with no experience.

Call centers may have a long list of positions including:

Outbound telemarketing positions are entry level positions, making this the job for which you are likely going to apply. A high school diploma may be required for this position.
As you put time into the company, gain experience and prove that you are a good worker, there may be opportunities to advance to higher up positions.
Outbound Telemarketer Job Duties
Outbound telemarketers are the ones who call you offering you products or services. Depending on the client, you may be assigned to ask for donations.
Each call center trains their outbound telemarketers. Usually, a script is provided, however, try to learn more than what the script contains. People will have questions, and the more you know about the product or service, the better prepared you'll be to reply.
When you make a sale, you will need to get the customer's name, address, order information, and payment information if applicable.
You may be asked to keep a detailed record of your calls. This would include the person's reaction to your call.
Call Center Salaries
Starting salaries are dependent upon a number of things such as the location of the company, job duties, company size, and prior experience. Since you are applying for your first ever job, you will probably start at the lower end of the pay scale. The good news is that telemarketing jobs usually pay more that minimum wage.
According to salary.com, the average annual salary for a full-time outbound telemarketer in the US is $25,766 or $12.39 an hour. Inbound telemarketers annual salaries average $28,997 or $13.94 an hour.
The same website states that call center supervisors earn $38,000 a year and up. Manager's salaries average $70,000.
With all this information at hand, you may want to consider seriously looking for a position as a call center telemarketer.
